this week has been the epitome of missionary work....june 24, 2013

last week's pday was insane in the membrane!!!! holy cow!! it was SO weird being the only one packing up. it kind of felt like i was dying. the hermanas were sad to see me go, but excited for me at the same time. it was hectic! packing and all that. I'm still being trained. I kind of feel like i'm starting over entering the mission field because now I get to use spanish more. its overwhelming because i spent 6 weeks hardly ever using it to now using it everyday. and my trainer is from mexico, so she knows spanish and i'm grateful for that! her name is hermana hernandez. we also live with hermana siddoway from ID and hermana schmidt from AZ. we all get along really well. and we're all in the 19-20 age group. hermana Siddoway turned 20 in the field and hermana schmidt is 19 and hermana hernandez is 20.

my new companion is so great!!! she's super willing to help me with my spanish! she is a super hard worker and super focused and I'm really excited about that!!!

mary and frankie have been waiting to be baptized since last october. they both had all the lessons when we met them. they were also really sad to have me leave, but they loved the sistah ninja and sistah bubbles shirts! i have their address so i can write them sometime as well as a few other members in bakersfield.

ohhhhh santa paula!!!! my companion, as we were driving into santa paula, said "welcome to little mexico!" because there are so many spanish speakers here. and its mostly 70-80 degrees and nice and breezy. i actually had this cold sensation a few times outside. it was super weird. hahaha. it was always sunny in bakersfield, and one day this week it was cloudy. i actually kind of missed cloudy days. (that was the day i was cold haha) oh johnny told me he got transferred. his weather in Novo has been warmer than here it seems like. who woulda thunk it?! haha

the majority of our appointments are in spanish! i dont talk that much because my spanish isnt that great and at first i had no idea what was going on. i kind of pick things up here and there but i dont get it all. its kind of frustrating and overwhelming, but one day i'll be able to speak.

my new district is really nice.  i dont really know any of them yet. its a little weird having an all spanish district. last transfer there were only 4 spanish speakers, me and hermana porter and elder bryson and his companion.  but thankfully we speak english in it.

biggest challenge-spanish. and not knowing these people yet.

thing that makes me most happy. I'm a missionary!! even with the challenges and the hard things, i love every minute of it!!

can you send a few straight skirts. just like 2 or 3. its very breezy and windy here, so my skirts blow up in the wind. its kind of funny. i remember you saying you had looked through my boxes of clothes at home, so i might have some in there.

sister fitzpatrick!! i got to see her at transfer meeting!!!! :)))))))))) shes in the ventura mission!

my health is good!

i kind of had a feeling that i would be getting transferred. especially the last week i had in bakersfield. i was super sad to leave because the people are soooo great there, but it didnt really come as a surprise. and i'm soooo happy to still be in the ventura mission!

we did get to see the broadcast. it was nice. we were all expecting some huge announcement though. and president monson just looked exhausted. that was kind of sad to see. :( and he didnt have his wedding ring on! :(

and this week has been the epitome of missionary work! I'll have to snail mail it! i have so much to tell yall because so much has gone on!! but i have no more time!!!! :(

love yall!!

love hermana rubow!
