Three months and counting....July 1st, 2013

Hola familia!!

this week has been good! i haven't seen rain since i've been in california! :)  aren't you jealous?!

so there is this spanish lady in the ward and she is so great! i just love her! her name is hermana ruiz. we had dinner with her one day and she said that she can tell i come from a good family (mom note:  this makes me smile because we are the most NOT reserved people!) because i'm reserved and respectful. hermana hernandez says that she can tell that hermana ruiz thinks a lot of me. then later this week we stopped by and helped her with something and it was about time for lunch, and she made us lunch! we helped her with it of course!, and also because she has a nerve problem and her arm was hurting really bad! she speaks mainly spanish. she knows a little english, so it was kind of funny when she would tell me to do stuff because i had to guess what to do because i didnt know what she was saying. oh she also speaks really fast!!!!! and then after i washed all the dishes and hermana hernandez said she really appreciated that!! hermana ruiz is one of my favorite people ever and i cant wait to speak better in spanish so i can talk with her.  oh and when she left she told me "you speak more" and something in spanish and hermana hernandez said that she wants to hear what i have to say and my opinions on things.

and i've been on my mission for 3 months!!!! woah!!!!! its going by too fast!!!!!!!!!!!

oh and things i've been studying! prophets, diligence, the sacrament, the lessons in preach my gospel and keeping the sabbath day holy. i never really realized how big of a deal it is that we have a living prophet on the earth today before my mission. but its a BIG deal!!!  and some people just dont get it. there have been a few times this week where people dont see how having prophets and everything else about having the same church that Christ established when He was on the earth  is important and its really sad that they dont know that.

and my spanish. i feel like i can understand a little bit more when they speak it and when i read it, but i cant speak it that well at all.

a cool thing that santa paula has are these air plane tours. like what we did with dad a few years ago. every day we see the airplanes and its seems fun. though most likely not a mission thing to do.

i'm out of time. i feel like this email was so random!! talk to you next week!

love yall!!

love,

hermana rubow!!!
