Heads Carolina...Tails California: Welcome to Arroyo Grande!

Hey family!! This week has been great! There's lots to do here! Where do I even begin?!

okay before I forget!!! This will be different...we'll be doing emails on Tuesdays, not Mondays. Today was an "exception" because its the beginning of the transfer. We'll be doing it on Tuesdays as there is a place thats closer to email thats not open on mondays. Right now, we're in Santa Maria, and it's like 30 minutes away from where we live, so it will help save miles and time. The missionaries before already got it approved by President Castro. It'll be different, but everything will work out. :)

Also, before I forget! Thank you Rick, family, and Johnny for the package!!! It's delicious! :)

This week has kind of been a whirl wind! We spent a day cleaning. And we've had a lot to do with the area. There is another set of hermanas in the ward, so we both do english work within the ward boundary, and we doth do spanish in part of the stake boundary. before us, they had a set of english elders and a set of spanish elders. So we've had to organize the area books and all that. The ward here is also really great! they havent had sisters in over 20 years, so theyre excited to help and to get to know us :) we also attend church in english, which is different. and we have spanish translation and spanish gospel principles. its a lot like santa paula, i think. the bishop is SO nice, as well as the WML's (english and spanish) and as well as the other ward leaders. they're also trying to start a group here. so we've got lots of work to do! its great! and hermana reyes is amazing!! we click really well! I love working with her and shes a lot of fun to talk to and be around! she was born in mexico, and raised in san diego. she a lot of fun and she's a great missionary!!

And we were able to meet some of the people in our area book. We have an investigator named J. We were able to meet with him this week. He had a baptismal date, but had to postpone it. We were also able to meet with a less active couple, V. and S. They're doing well. We mainly just got to know them this week, and they're excited to have sisters as well. We also received a referral from a member and we were able to contact her. Her name is R, and she's willing to listen to us. She doesn't really seem willing to change her religion, but she loves to listen to anything about God. We're planning on stopping by her again sometime.

And another plus, we see the ocean every time we go home. once this week we did get lost (we try not to use the GPS unless we absolutley need to. we have a map though. its to help us get to know the area. its good!) and we got to see the beach...like sand and ocean. it was the closest I'll get to the beach on my mission. which is fine :)

and i think thats about it! though i know i'm forgetting something. but anyway, have a good week!
